Someone has painted their door

Number 4 is now green. It was previously also green. The distinction is the subject of ongoing discussion and at least one visit to compare.

The door of number 4 has been repainted.

It was green before and it is green now. The new green is understood to be a different green.

The distinction

The previous green was the green used on the terrace since the doors were done together in 2009, when four households bought a tin between them and there was some left over.

The new green is lighter, with what has been described as a blue in it.

Two residents have walked along to compare it against number 6, which retains the original. Both report a clear difference. A third resident says she cannot see one and has been shown twice.

“It is his door. He can paint it what he likes. I would only say that we all did ours the same and now we have not.”

The position of number 4

The owner of number 4 has said, when asked, that the shop in Inverness did not have the old one, that he stood there a while, and that this was the nearest.

He has offered to do it again if anybody minds.

Nobody has said they mind. Three people have said they do not mind in a way that was noted.

He is also, it has been pointed out, the only person on the terrace who has painted a door at all since 2009.
